Code to help Fintech innovation
To boost innovation in the Code to help Fintech sector, BBVA has shared a code library with the open source developer community that will save a lot of time in the development of products based on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The banking institution has made public its Mercury library on the collaborative portal Github, a project driven by its own Advanced Data Analytics discipline and which centralizes the algorithms generated in various countries by its scientists and researchers.
The goal is to “avoid
Duplications, make developments more efficient and promote the globalization and reuse of its analytical products,” details its website , which recalls the “large investment of time and resources to design, implement and test data algorithms” necessary to obtain software based on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
For this reason, they released Mercury on the Github platform, which can be used by other programmers to generate their own solutions and save a lot of time in the creation process.
“The code components present in Mercury have been generated by data scientists and machine learning engineers Job Function from Spain, Mexico and Latin America to respond to business challenges in areas as diverse as Finance, Corporate and Investment Banking or the development of solutions for clients,” they add.
Machine learning is a
Branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on machine “learning” and is widely used to generate systems that can identify patterns in data to make predictions.
BBVA uses the code for many of its functions, such as “monitoring the robustness of algorithms, ensuring that they comply with Mexico Email List regulations, designing recommendation systems or speeding up the data labeling process with which the bank has added new expense categories to the application.”
The publication of the library will allow programmers to access the code, but not the data of the entity or the clients it serves.
According to the bank, this release aims to give a hand to innovation in the field of Fintech , or new financial technologies, to facilitate new products that better meet the needs of customers.
Mercury was created in 2019 by BBVA AI Factory, the division dedicated to the study and implementation of artificial intelligence.
